The Global Centre for Green Fuels (GCGF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), marking a key step forward in regional collaboration on sustainable fuels. The agreement was formalised during the Vietnam–Singapore Business Forum held in Singapore.
The exchange was witnessed by high-level dignitaries including Mr. To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Mr. Tran Phuoc Anh, Ambassador of Vietnam to Singapore, and Mr. Jaya Ratnam, Ambassador of Singapore to Vietnam. The occasion underscored the growing cooperation between the two countries, highlighted by the recent elevation of their bilateral relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP),
Singapore’s first CSP with an ASEAN member state.
The MOU between GCGF and MOIT represents a shared commitment to supporting Vietnam’s decarbonisation and energy transition goals, with a particular focus on sustainable transport fuels. As part of the collaboration, GCGF will work closely with MOIT’s Agency for Innovation, Green Transition and Industry Promotion (IGIP) to:
Develop roadmaps and policy recommendations for Vietnam’s national biofuel strategy
Share technical expertise and international best practices in biofuel production and usage
Support activities related to blending, logistics, and standards for bioethanol and other sustainable fuels
Deliver joint research, training programmes, technical workshops, and public awareness campaigns
This partnership reflects GCGF’s mission to drive science-based, practical solutions that support clean energy adoption across Asia and beyond.
We look forward to working with MOIT to advance these efforts and contribute meaningfully to Vietnam’s low-carbon future.
