Powering A Cleaner and Greener Maritime Future

Uniting Ethanol and Methanol Stakeholders for Next Generation Marine Fuels

Maritime Ethanol & Methanol Alliance (MEMA)

Why MEMA

There is currently no dedicated voice representing both ethanol and methanol in the maritime sector. Advocacy efforts remain fragmented, resulting in duplicative initiatives and missed opportunities.

MEMA was created to unify stakeholders under a credible, science-based platform — driving collaboration across policy, safety, and technology. Together, we aim to support the transition toward low-carbon liquid fuels in line with IMO, ISO, EU Fit for 55, FuelEU Maritime, and other international frameworks.
