Global Centre for Green Fuels (GCGF) was featured in Nikkei, Asia’s leading business daily, in an article examining the expanding global demand for ethanol and its transformative potential for emerging economies.
The piece highlighted how ethanol not only supports decarbonization but also strengthens energy security, stabilizes fuel costs, and drives rural development. As Clarence Woo, Managing Director of GCGF, noted: "Not only will it help energy security by reducing dependency on oil imports, it will also provide a way to use surplus crops and lead to rural development."
The article also explored Brazil’s move to mandate E30, U.S. ethanol’s price advantage amid lower corn costs, and how emerging markets like India and Indonesia are well-positioned to scale bioethanol production. As OECD and FAO predict, middle-income nations are expected to drive the next decade of ethanol growth.
