The Global Centre for Green Fuels (GCGF) recently concluded a series of strategic meetings in Taipei, engaging key energy, policy, and research stakeholders on pathways to accelerate the shift toward low-carbon transport fuels.
Across three days, GCGF held discussions with:
CPC Corporation, Taiwan’s national oil company and a key player in shaping fuel programmes
Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE), a leading NGO focused on sustainable energy policy
The Executive Yuan’s Office of Energy and Carbon Reduction, which oversees Taiwan’s net-zero strategy
Think tanks including the Research Institute for Democracy, Society and Emerging Technology (DSET) and the International Climate Development Institute (ICDI)
Members of the Legislative Yuan with active roles in shaping climate, energy, and transport legislation
Senior editors from CommonWealth Magazine, NewTalk, and Radio Taiwan International
Discussions centred around regional energy security, the role of renewable fuels in the transport sector, and the importance of reducing dependence on fossil-derived additives. Stakeholders expressed growing interest in exploring practical, science-based fuel alternatives that can support Taiwan’s 2050 net-zero ambitions.
GCGF was pleased to contribute global perspectives and share international experience in the deployment of low-carbon liquid fuels. The visit reaffirmed the strong regional momentum towards sustainable energy transitions and the value of continued knowledge exchange.
These discussions opened meaningful channels for ongoing exchange around sustainable transport fuels and energy resilience.
